A customer needed to conduct a consumer test utilizing their production polypropylene dispenser package that included an attached applicator. The current production applicator had a smooth surface.  The purpose of the test was to compare product application and consumer response for a variety of applicator surface textures.

The Challenge:  How to economically produce textured applicator samples for use in the consumer test utilizing the same injection molded material without the cost of additional tooling.

The Solution:  We were able to produce the samples in the texture matrix via scanning and manipulating the scan data to create laser engraving programs that allowed us to laser engrave the textures onto the smooth surface current production applicators.
